Oxygen Barrier Crown Caps
|
Silver crown, unprinted, plastic liner contains oxygen scavenging agent.
Why oxygen barrier caps? Well, after numerous tastings with and without, we feel that these caps enable the beer to retains it's hop aroma longer. Maybe this is because all the oxygen in the headspace between beer and cap is eliminated.
Be sure to store these in a dry environment.
If you must sanitze, use Iodopher, which will activate the caps, but then they must be used WITHIN THE HOUR. But generally, they are clean from the factory, clean from us in vacuum sealed bags, and ready to use.
Note:
Cleaning or soaking these caps defeats the intended purpose of oxygen absorbtion. Because liquid activates these caps, the first liquid contact you want with these caps is beer.
