Willamette
|
A quality aroma hops with a smooth soft flavor and a mild spicy finishing. Similar to Fuggle, but Willamette has an additional spicy characteristic not found in Fuggle. Typical use is in the finishing and dry hopping for American and British Ales. Willamette does make a good bittering hop and has a fruity flavor. It is a very versatile hop that can be used in almost any Ale style. Commonly used in American and British Ales. Commercial examples include Sierra Nevada Porter, Ballard Bitter, Anderson Valley Boont Amber.
Good Substitute: Fuggle, Tettnanger, Styrian Goldings.
