Hallertau (German)
|
Hallertau (German) are a close descendant of Hallertau Mittelfruh. They have a very fine aroma that is similiar to Hallertau Mittelfruh. It is an aroma hop suitable to use in all mild flavor beers, especially Lager and Pilsner styles.
A traditional German aroma hop used primarily in Finishing for German style lagers it has versatile bittering abilities when mixed with other hops. Use successfully for Wheat beers, Altbiers, Pilseners, Belgian ales and American lagers, it is probably the most popular aroma variety with a mild to semi-strong bouquet. A good commercial example is Wheathook Wheaten Ale.
Good Substitute: Hallertauer Mittelfrueh, Crystal, Liberty.
